Leather Jacket Manufacturer in Pakistan: From Design Brief to Export Carton
There are plenty of leather jacket manufacturers in Pakistan, and from a catalogue most look the same. This page shows what happens when LeatherJacket.pk makes a jacket for your brand: each production stage, how leathers behave, the OEM and private label routes, and what importers should settle before bulk. We make to order rather than from stock. MOQ, price, sample timing and lead time are confirmed per design on WhatsApp, because a lined shearling aviator and an unlined lambskin racer are very different jobs.
How a leather jacket is made, step by step
Every order passes through the same eight stages. Knowing them helps you judge any maker (our guide to choosing a leather jacket manufacturer lists the questions to ask) and shows where your input changes the result. To judge the finished work, our guide to signs of good leather jacket construction covers seams, edges and reinforcements.
- Design brief. You send a tech pack, sketch, photo or sample garment, and we turn it into a working spec: silhouette, length, collar, pockets, lining, hardware and branding. Gaps become questions now, while they are cheap to fix.
- Pattern and grading. The base-size pattern is drafted with seam allowances for leather, which cannot be eased like woven fabric. After fit approval it is graded to your size chart so every size keeps the same proportions.
- Leather selection and cutting. Hides are inspected under good light and scars, bites and loose grain are marked. Fronts, backs and sleeve tops go on the cleanest areas, flawed areas go to facings, and one jacket's panels come from closely matched hides.
- Sampling. A first sample checks pattern and look; you comment, we revise. For bulk, a pre-production sample in the real leather, lining, hardware and labels becomes the reference for the whole order.
- Skiving and stitching. Panel edges are skived (thinned) so seams lie flat, and needle and thread are matched to the leather. Every needle hole is permanent, so a wrong seam cannot be unpicked without leaving marks. Topstitching, quilting and pockets follow, then the lining.
- Hardware and trims. Zips, snaps, buckles and rivets go on in the agreed type and finish. Zips are run end to end, snaps checked for grip, rivets for a firm set. Branded pullers, labels and patches are placed by measurement against the approved sample.
- Quality checks. Checks run during production and on finished jackets: measurements within tolerance, straight stitching, panel matching, lining tension, hardware, label spelling, loose threads and glue marks. You get photos or video before dispatch.
- Packing. Jackets are folded with tissue or hung, bagged, tagged and packed in cartons marked with SKU, size and quantity. Leather needs to breathe, so discuss packing before a long sea shipment.

Leather types compared for manufacturing
The leather changes how a jacket is cut, sewn and priced, not only how it feels. This is how each option behaves in production. For the wearer's view, read our lambskin vs cowhide vs goatskin comparison.
| Leather | Hand and weight | Usually chosen for | Manufacturing notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lambskin / sheepskin (nappa) | Soft, light, fine grain | Fashion jackets, racers, blazers, women's cuts | Small skins, so back panels need careful hide selection; marks easily in handling |
| Goatskin | Supple, medium weight, pebbled grain | Bombers, flight styles, everyday jackets | Pebbled grain hides small marks; holds stitching well at a lighter weight |
| Cowhide | Firm, heavy, structured | Biker and motorcycle jackets, vests, workwear | Large hides allow long panels with fewer joins; needs heavier needles and thread |
| Suede (split) | Soft nap, matte | Truckers, bombers, blazers | Nap must run one way on every panel or shades differ; glue marks show |
| Nubuck | Velvety top grain | Casual jackets, trims | Same nap matching as suede; scuffs easily |
| Shearling | Thick, warm, wool on one side | Aviators, collars, linings | Bulky seams need their own construction; pile checked for even density |
Whichever leather you pick, sign off a physical swatch and keep one for reference. Small differences from hide to hide are normal in a natural material.
OEM and private label options
Buyers come to a leather jacket maker at different stages, so there are three ways to work with us:
Full OEM from your tech pack
Your design, measurements and materials. We pattern, sample and produce it under your brand. Suits labels with their own designer.
Adapted base style
Start from a proven biker, bomber, racer or shearling pattern and change the leather, colour, lining, pockets and hardware. Good for a first collection.
Private label branding
Choose a style and add your identity: woven or leather labels, an embossed logo, printed lining, branded pullers, hangtags and packaging. Only your brand appears on the jacket.
Artwork and tech packs you share stay yours. For the full launch process, including tech pack branding pages, trims and the usual mistakes, read our private label leather jackets guide. For a single personalised jacket or a short run, see custom leather jackets. Importing? Our OEM, ODM and importer responsibility guide shows who handles what.
Who we manufacture for
Whether you need a single production run or a supplier you can reorder from season after season, what matters most depends on the kind of business you run:
| Buyer | What usually matters most | Good starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Fashion brands and designers | Fit that holds across sizes, exact branding, reorders that match | Full OEM or an adapted base style, with a pre-production sample |
| Retailers and boutiques | A tight, saleable range, colour choice, retail-ready packaging | Adapted base styles with private label trims |
| Wholesalers and distributors | Mixed styles per shipment, clear carton marking, steady quality | Wholesale supply with a written spec per style |
| Motorbike clubs | Heavy leather, back patches and rockers, club colours, vests | Cowhide jackets or vests with your patch artwork |
| Corporate and team buyers | Matching jackets, an embroidered logo, a size spread across people | One style in one colour, with a size list per person |
Riding note: jackets sold as protective motorcycle clothing in the EU or UK need certified construction and testing, so raise it before sampling.
Notes for export buyers: UK, USA, Canada, Germany, UAE and Saudi Arabia
If you are importing, a few decisions are easier to make before the sample than after it.
- Changing supplier: if you already buy from another leather jacket supplier in Pakistan, or anywhere else, send us one jacket from your current range. We measure it, note the leather, lining and trims, and sample against it, so your customers do not notice a change in fit.
- Sizing: UK and US ranges usually run by chest size or S to XXL, while German buyers often use numeric sizes such as 48, 50 and 52. Send the chart your customers know and we grade to it. Our leather jacket size guide has UK, US and EU conversion tables.
- Climate and lining: for Canadian and German winters, sample a quilted or insulated lining. For the UAE and Saudi Arabia, lighter lambskin and thin or half linings usually make more sense.
- Labels: care, size and "Made in Pakistan" origin labels are sewn in to suit your market. Your importer confirms the exact wording required.
- Terms and paperwork: we quote common Incoterms® rules and agree the term in writing per order. Customs codes and country notes are on our wholesale shipping page.
- One written record: specs, sample photos and approvals stay in one WhatsApp thread, which works across time zones.

FAQ: leather jacket manufacturing
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
We are the leather jacket maker. Your jackets are cut, stitched and finished by our own team, and you can ask for in-progress photos of your sample at any stage.
Can you produce leather jackets under my own brand?
Yes. We work as an OEM and private label manufacturer, so the jackets can carry your labels, embossed logo, printed lining, branded zip pullers, hangtags and packaging, with no LeatherJacket.pk branding.
How are MOQ, price and lead time worked out?
They depend on the style, leather, lining, hardware, branding and quantity, so they are confirmed per design on WhatsApp once we have seen your brief.
Will I see a sample before you start bulk?
Yes. A sample comes first so you can check fit, leather, colour and finishing. For bulk orders, the approved pre-production sample is the standard the bulk jackets are checked against.
Which leather is best for motorbike club jackets and vests?
Cowhide is the usual choice for its weight and abrasion resistance, with goatskin as a lighter option. A fashion biker jacket is not protective equipment, so certified riding gear needs separate construction and testing.
Do you ship to the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Samples and smaller orders usually travel by courier, and larger orders by air or sea freight through your forwarder, on the shipping term agreed in writing for each order.
