Making one jacket for you and making a run of jackets with your label inside are different jobs. When we work as a custom jacket manufacturer for a brand, shop, club or company, a few extra steps keep the last jacket in the order looking like the sample you signed off:
- A written spec. Your tech pack, or one we put together with you from photos and a reference jacket, covering leather, lining, hardware, branding positions and measurements.
- Fit first, then the final sample. A first sample in your base size settles shape and fit. After corrections, a final sample is made with the actual leather, trims and labels you are ordering.
- Graded sizes. The approved pattern is graded across your size chart, so a small and an XXL keep the same proportions.
- Branding signed off before bulk. Woven labels, embossed logos, printed linings, branded pullers and hangtags are each approved, because a mistake there repeats on every jacket.
- Checked against the sample. You get QC photos before dispatch, with packing and carton marks done to your instructions.

If you are ordering from abroad, you will probably never visit the workshop, and you do not need to. It goes smoothly when a few things are clear from the start:
- Sizes travel badly. A men's UK 40, US 40 and EU 50 line up, but women's numbers differ by country and letter sizes differ by brand. Send measurements rather than a label size, ideally from a jacket that fits.
- Colour looks different on every screen. Ask for leather photos in daylight before the sample, and for brand orders sign off a physical swatch.
- Shipping is quoted per order. Single jackets and samples usually go by DHL or FedEx door to door. Larger orders can go through your own forwarder.
